Performance Features

1.) Offers maximum vertical adjustability, reducing layout time to a minimum, while always ensuring full engagement and performance of masonry wire tie. Design eliminates eccentric loading, 100% protection against separation of wire tie from anchor.

2.) “V”-shaped indentation on projecting bar of anchor for added structural strength.

3.) Anchor design allows masonry veneer to move vertically and laterally in its own plane.(A system that does not allow for movement due to temperature variations, shrinkage, deflection or other stresses will be inviting cracks in the masonry veneer.) While this movement is desirable, in and out movement should be negligible. This positive and negative resistance is accomplished by the DW-10’s backplate and projecting ”V” BAR”, respectively. In realizing the importance of this design consideration, Hohmann & Barnard now offers DW-10 series anchors with two different spacings between projecting “V-BAR” and backplate: to accommodate 3/16” or ” dia. Wire tie.

4.) Backplate prevents crushing of insulation or wallboard by masonry wire tie. Pressure from positive loads is distributed along backplate of all Dw-10 series anchors, No. pinpoints loading!

5.) Top and bottom of anchor are screwed to metal stud for added strength, an advantage over single-screw systems.

6.) DW-10HS and DW-10-X have new shorter design for higher strength.

7.) DW-10HS & DW-10-X have a ribbed design on backplate for added structural strength.

8.) BYNA-TIE has parallel, overlapping legs, designed for use with the SEISMICLIP INTERLOCK SYSTEM. It can also be used as a conventional wire tie.

DW-10 – SEISMICLIP INTERLOCK SYSTEM. REINFORCED MASONRY VENEER WALL APPLICATIONS.

Why specify the SEISMICLIP INTERLOCK SYSTEM?

1.) The use of a continuous wire in masonry veneer walls is beneficial in providing additional protection against problems arising from thermal expansion and contraction. It also allows for a more uniform distribution of lateral forces.

2.) This system conforms with requirements of the Uniform Building Code for seismic zones* The code requires anchored veneer walls to have a continuous wire imbedded in the mortar joint. This wire is to be secured to the tie anchor, which is fastened to the supporting structure.
Architects, owners and contractors desiring to reinforce masonry veneer for either of the above reasons can now specify this positive mechanical system.
Horizontal joint reinforcement wire and BYNA-TIE are snapped into SEISMICLIP and fully surrounded by mortar. This allows wire, BYNA-TIE and any DW-10 Series Anchor to work as a single unit fastened to the steel stud backup.

Is an extrusion of durable, impact-resistant, rigid P.V.C.
Features retaining ridges to ensure correct snap-in insertion of BYNA-TIE and continuous wire.
Features a multi-grooved base to bond mortar.
Is available in two models: #187 accepts a 3/16” dia. BYNA-TIE; #250 accepts a ” dia. BYNA-TIE (Both models accept either 9 ga. Or 3/16” dia. Continuous wire.)
