SCREED INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
 


WITH ELEVATION CHECKED BY INSTRUMENT, STRETCH LINE OVER ENTIRE LENGTH AT APPROXIMATELY 20 FOOT CENTERS, DRIVE STAKES 1/4" TO 3/8" BELOW STRING LINE. IF VINYL CAP IS USED, DRIVE STAKES 1/8" DEEPER.
   














LAY SCREED ALONG SIDE OF ELEVATION LINE TO ACT AS TEMPLATE IN DRIVING AND POSITIONING STAKES SO THAT THE STAKES WILL BE SPACED TO MATCH THE SLOTS IN THE SCREED, FIVE STAKES TO EACH 10' LENGTH. SLOTTED 2 X 4 CAN BE USED AS DRIVING GUIDE.




A.P.S. SCREED JOINT IS HUNG ON STAKE HOOKS THROUGH 1 1/4" PRE-PUNCHED SLOTS OR IN THE CONTINUOUS GROOVE WHICH ALLOW FREEDOM OF STAKE PLACEMENT FOR CONDUIT. SCREED DOES NOT HAVE TO BE FASTENED AT LOWER EDGE. HOWEVER, OUR "GRIPIT" CLIP, 8P NAIL OR WIRE MAY BE USED.




 
CONCRETE IS POURED OVER BOTH SIDES OF A.P.S. SCREED JOINT ELIMINATING TIME, SPALLING, AND CURLING AND CHECKERBOARDING. STEAL REINFORCING BARS MAY BE PLACED THROUGH DOWEL HOLES OF SCREED.




 
WHERE JOINTS MEET AT RIGHT ANGLES, A.P.S. SCREED JOINT MAY BE TRIMMED TO FIT AS SHOWN, STAKES MAY BE CLIPPED, WIRED OR NAILED TO INSURE PERFECT FIT.


 
A.P.S. SCREED JOINTS ARE PROVIDED WITH 7/8" KNOCKOUTS ON 6" CENTERS FOR JOBS SPECIFYING DOWELLING. WHEN USED AS A BULKHEAD, THE KNOCKOUT TAB SHOULD BE BENT BACK INTO THE POUR AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE.

FINISHED SLABS FIVES SNAP-LINE APPEARANCE WHEN A.PS. SCREED JOINT IS USED. NO EXPENSIVE, TIME CONSUMING JOINT REATMENT IS NECESSARY. SPALLING AND END CURLING HAVE BEEN MINIMIZED. NO FORM STRIPPING, NO EDGE DAMAGE.
